A technical master’s thesis in Business Administration Technologies was discussed at the Administrative Technical College / Mosul, Northern Technical University, by the student Hiyam Ghanim Billah Matti. The thesis was entitled:
“Entrepreneurial Leadership as an Approach to Enhancing Strategic Aggressiveness: An Analytical Study at Northern Technical University.”
The discussion was held on Wednesday morning, September 9, 2026.
The study aimed to analyze the role of entrepreneurial leadership in enhancing strategic aggressiveness at Northern Technical University by examining the correlation and impact relationships among the study variables and their dimensions. It sought to provide a scientific framework explaining how entrepreneurial leadership practices influence the strategic orientations of university institutions and strengthen their ability to adopt bolder and more proactive strategic options in light of the rapid transformations taking place in higher education institutions.
The study adopted a descriptive-analytical approach and used a questionnaire as the primary instrument for data collection. A purposive sample of 120 academic and administrative leaders at Northern Technical University was selected, including college deans, heads of academic departments, and a number of administrative leaders across the university’s formations.
The collected data were analyzed using SPSS V.26 and SmartPLS 3, applying Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM).
The results revealed a strong and statistically significant positive correlation between entrepreneurial leadership and strategic aggressiveness, in addition to a significant effect of entrepreneurial leadership on enhancing strategic aggressiveness. These findings confirm that developing entrepreneurial leadership practices contributes to strengthening the university’s ability to adopt bolder and more proactive strategic orientations.
The results also showed that innovation was the most influential dimension in enhancing strategic aggressiveness.
The study concluded that strengthening entrepreneurial leadership practices, particularly those related to innovation, investment in technological infrastructure, improving operational efficiency, managing organizational stability, and sustaining competencies, can contribute to enhancing the university’s ability to respond to environmental and competitive changes and achieve its strategic orientations.
