A technical master’s thesis in Business Administration Technologies was discussed at the Administrative Technical College / Mosul, Northern Technical University, by the student Salsabeel Yousif Ahmed. The thesis was entitled:
“The Role of Strategic Renewal in Enhancing Digital Transformation: An Analytical Study of a Number of Iraqi Private Banks in Nineveh Governorate.”
The discussion was held on Tuesday morning, September 8, 2026, at 9:00 a.m. in the Court Hall at the college.
The study aimed to identify the role of strategic renewal in enhancing digital transformation in a number of Iraqi private banks in Nineveh Governorate, as well as to measure the nature of the relationship and impact between the two study variables. Strategic renewal was examined through the dimensions of exploration, opportunity exploitation, entrepreneurship, and leadership involvement, while digital transformation was addressed through the dimensions of digital technologies, digital processes, digital data, digital strategy, and employees’ digital capabilities.
The study adopted a descriptive-analytical approach and used a questionnaire as the primary instrument for data collection. A total of 150 questionnaires were distributed to employees in the private banks included in the study, of which 103 valid questionnaires were returned and used for statistical analysis. The collected data were analyzed and the study hypotheses were tested using SPSS V.27 and SmartPLS.
The study reached a number of findings, most notably the existence of a statistically significant positive correlation between strategic renewal and digital transformation, in addition to a significant effect of strategic renewal on enhancing digital transformation. These findings confirm that the adoption of strategic renewal practices by banks contributes to increasing their digital readiness and improving their ability to respond to environmental and technological challenges.
The results also showed that entrepreneurship ranked first among the dimensions of strategic renewal, while digital processes recorded the highest level among the dimensions of digital transformation.
