Under the patronage of the President of the University, Professor Dr. Alia Abbas Al-Attar, and under the supervision of the Dean of the Technical Administrative College, Assistant Professor Dr. Raafat Asi Hussein Al-Obaidi, the Department of Accounting Technology organized a scientific lecture entitled “Banking Management and Its Role in Sustainable Development.” The lecture was held as part of the Sustainable Development Program activities of the Quality Assurance Department at the Presidency of Northern Technical University, in cooperation with the Quality Assurance and Performance Evaluation Division of the College.
The lecture was delivered by Assistant Lecturer Omar Zaidan Abdul Karim as part of the Department’s scientific activities aimed at enhancing academic and professional awareness in the field of sustainable development.
The lecture highlighted the importance of the banking sector in supporting sustainable development pathways through its role in financing economic projects, encouraging investments, and promoting financial stability, all of which contribute to achieving economic and social development.
Furthermore, the presenter discussed the concept of modern banking management and the mechanisms through which banks support development initiatives. The lecture also emphasized the importance of adopting banking policies that take environmental and social considerations into account, in alignment with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
