The research aimed to examine the role of digital transformation in achieving digital sustainability at Northern Technical University by surveying a sample of employees from the university’s formations in Nineveh Governorate. Digital transformation was addressed as the independent variable through the dimensions of digital culture, digital agility, talent investment, and digital infrastructure, while digital sustainability was examined through the dimensions of digital social sustainability, digital economic sustainability, and digital environmental sustainability.
The research adopted a descriptive-analytical approach and used a questionnaire as the primary instrument for collecting data and information. A total of 70 questionnaires were distributed, of which 60 valid questionnaires were returned, representing a response rate of 85.7%. The collected data were analyzed using SPSS V.26.
The results revealed a statistically significant role of digital transformation in achieving digital sustainability. The statistical tests also supported most of the research hypotheses and highlighted the importance of further developing certain dimensions of digital transformation to enhance their effectiveness in supporting digital sustainability within the university.
